Update on my Update

It's official - Huston Street has been named AL Rookie of the year! It's fun to remember watching him at the Disch. He was so good, he'd play third base, then in about the 7th inning, someone would run out of the dugout and start warming up with him to go in for relief pitching. While he was playing 3rd! - usually the pitching coach would be s-l-o-w-l-y walking out to the mound to have a little conference with the infield. That was all the time Street needed. They'd put him on the mound and WHAM! Before you knew it the game was over....another UT win. My brother still owes me for a bet he lost. About mid way thru the season of Huston Street's junior year, we had a debate about whether he'd go pro that year, or come back to UT for his senior year. I told David he was crazy if he thought the guy would come back for another year! He insisted. My Uncle Sammy even chimed in on David's side of the argument. So we bet. I have witnesses to the bet. Street went in the first round of the draft later that summer to the Oakland A's. I'm still waiting for David to pick up the tab for my season tickets.
