Ben's off in Kerrville tonight with Nooner. I'm feeling more like a band widow every day, (oh, woe is me....) but I'm glad things are popping for the band. They leave Sept 7 for a 6 day trip to Colorado, via Dallas and Kansas, to play at the South Park Music Festival. Maybe I'll get to go to "Harold's" in London one day after all! :-)

Toobing Trip! Someone's 35....

My Bengaroo turned 35 on Sunday August 14th. Saturday night a group of us went to see Wedding Crashers at the Alamo Drafthouse (which is HILARIOUS!). Sunday we had a great time tubing down the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels. Here's a couple of good ones...
The full group of photos can be found here. Big thank yous to everyone involved in celebrating the old man's bday. hee hee. (He was 26 after all when I met him.) The highlight of the tubing trip was Liz singing happy birthday to Ben in her best tipsy opera voice in the middle of the restaurant - the whole place got dead silent when she got going! It was GREAT!

Lizard wants to be a rock star...and of course more CHEEEEZ!

Subcutaneous Hemangioma

...Benign, soft tissue or vascular tumor...

That is what the vet cut off of Elway's back. Supposedly only happens to 3% of the canine population. Of course! Elway is perfectly fine, and was actually his normal old self the day after the surgery. Here's a couple more pictures, the first one is from Thursday, and the second one today... he got his stitches out yesterday morning. It'll take a while for the hair to grow back, but the cut is healing quite nicely...

And here lies HRH The Beagle... all snug in one of his many sleeping places around the house...

Awesome!

That's what our friends are! AWESOME! Upon arriving at Red's Scoot Inn on East 4th Street for what was supposed to be Tim's early birthday party ... we were greeted with "Surprise! This is for you!" Complete with a tropical theme, Lisa W (all the way from Big D), Liz, Christine, Kristin, Nicole, Tim, Jef - all of them! - cooked up a great party! I was totally floored. After a horrible week at work, and also getting my earful on Saturday from a mad Project Manager, I was not at my highest level of morale. Ben and I decided on the way over we'd "go for a little while" since we were both worn out. On the way I realized I didn't get Tim a card, but thought "Well, it's really a month til his birthday..." Never once did I suspect. We girls had talked about the party all week in email - I made queso, told Alison she should come out if she wanted to... too funny. Even when we walked in and Liz announed us as "Mr. and Mrs. Ben and Lisa!" I thought she was just being silly, announcing everyone as they came in. We used Chris's I-pod for music, with a refreshingly excellent mix of great tunes. Even some Barry Manilow! Thank you to Aaron for supplying (as usual) the PA. We really had a great time. Totally lifted my spirits. And for the first time in years, we were late to a function. We are usually always early, so everyone had gotten to the bar early in anticipation of that. Sorry gang! It was so cool that Lisa and Jon Wilburn were able to come in, since they've been a part of the on-going wedding debate for years AND they were with us in Key West when we got hitched!

Thank you so so so SO much for throwing us our very own reception. It was awesome and thoughtful and garsh... I'm all gooshy inside! Here is my photo set, most of which were taken from Special K's photo site. Liz took a bunch, too, and we will teach her how to post them for sharing very soon.

A couple more of my favorites: (the second one is the total surprise from me when we arrived)

THANKS TO ALL INVOLVED! WE WERE TOTALLY SURPRISED!

(edit: what makes me think I can post and spell properly at 6:30 in the morning? I fixed "surpised")
