Shout out

This one goes out to all my Texas Fan homies…. Have a blast in Pasadena! I am so jealous. Ben took our friend Mark to the airport this morning for the beginning of his journey to Pasadena. My friends Pat, Missy & her sister Chrissy, neighbors Brad and Laurelyn, … sheesh. All going to the big show.

I saw this painted on a rear window recently:

Roses are Red
Buffalo are Blue
USC is soon
To be #2!

Beagle Abuse

We must “abuse” our Beagle, Elway, every so often. It keeps him in line. While we all know he rules the roost, every once in awhile we like to remind him that he is here for OUR entertainment. So we wrap him in wrapping paper, stick antlers on him, make him go crazy for treats… We bought all the dogs these candy cane cookies at the K-9 bakery in the mall. I don’t think Max tasted his at all.

Christmas Baking

100_4657
My only opportunity this year at Christmas cookie baking. Boo. I love to bake Christmas stuff but I just don’t have the time. (I really LOVE to eat it…) These are for the family dinner we are having on Friday night at Tante Lula’s house in New Braunfels. Tante Lula is my aunt by marriage. She’s married to my Uncle Sammy, who is also my Mom’s brother. There’s a very long standing joke there. My family will get it.

Anyway, Tante will be making the family favorite, Rouladen. And potato balls. And Anita Kay will provide the German style red cabbage. YUM! The whole fam damily will be there… except my uncle who lives near Savannah Georgia. He became a Grandpa this year… he and his family don’t get to come visit much. But all the snot-nosed children will be there! Heh heh. We have a new baby girl in the gourp named Kendall. She was born in October. Can’t wait to meet her!

I've had a lovely cold/allergy issue since Saturday. I don't know if it's a cold or cedar fever. I'm losing my voice which makes it hard to work. Speaking of work, I had a man leave me a voice mail today demanding my cell phone number since he could never reach me by phone. When I called him back, I mentioned that giving him my cell phone number would not help since I'm typically already on the phone or perhaps in the ladies room if I don't answer. Sheesh. Shut him up fairly quickly. Oh, and I had another customer, whom I sent paperwork to more than 3 weeks ago, ask if I could meet him this coming Saturday to go over it, and he's closing before the end of the year. Um, yeah, right. I felt like David Spade from the Capital One commercials... NO! Wait a minute! ... NO! It's Christmas Eve dumbass! He called back today and told me he could meet on Friday. Must be a Christmas Miracle! I guess I'm not allowed a life. I'm all about customer service, but make your demands reasonable people!

Okay. I try not to talk much aboiut work here. Don't want to get fired. Big Brother may be watching.

Night all!

Office Parties

What is Christmas without the “office party”? Ours was rather uneventful. We have a white elephant gift exchange each year. There were several items recycled from last year’s party. Ben was the lucky recipient of this lovely rooster, brought in by the Giddings residents and country folk Laura and Roy. It’s called “The Parrot Redux”. (I’ll have to find the pictures from last year’s party, but you’ll see a parrot in these photos – it’s recycled from last year…and the story just gets funnier from there)

Parrot Redux

Merry Christmas everyone! Here’s to silly office parties!

Winter in Austin

As expected, the temperature outside right now is 70 degrees.  It’s a beautiful sunny day in Austin, Texas!  Love these Austin winters, oh yeah.

Irony?

I’m not sure why… maybe I’m sleepy? But this was really funny to me.
Ice on the dogloos.

Brrrrr.....

It is very very cold today in Austin! I drove in from Houston this afternoon, got to the office about 2pm. Left the office at 4:30 because of reports of freezing rain … in that short time my car doors were iced shut!

Brrrrr….. This is why I live in Texas – this probably won’t last more than a day. Then it’ll be 70 again . Love it!

It is, however, too cold for the “big kids” outside to BE outside, so we brought them in. The Beagle is really hating life right now. His space has been invaded. Here’s a couple shots of the “big kids” enjoying the Great Indoors! Oh, great news I just heard on the news... it's colder here than in Anchorage, Alaska and somewhere in Russia.

I see there are other doggies feeling the bite of the cold tonight!
