Obla-di, Obla-da...
I officially started my new job yesterday, although I've been there unofficially for quite a while, getting all my files transferred and taken care of. The new place is really cool - I'm thinking I will like it way better than where I was. It's a very team oriented atmosphere. My team is in San Antonio and they have been very nice, but also have closed my loans without any delays or hitches! whew. It will be even better when I don't have to drive to South Mopac any more. I'm working about 9:30 to 3:30 so I can try and avoid as much traffic as possible. I have had a 10 minute commute for the last 7 years ... I'd kill someone in this Austin traffic. It's a bit nerve wracking to change companies after so long, but looks like it will all be fine.
And... check out the countdown!!! We are under 2 weeks away from croooozin'! I think we have all our plans ironed out for excursions etc. The first stop is Costa Maya, then Roatan, Honduras, then Belize City, then Cozumel. The only full group (there are 8 of us) organized activity is in Belize City - Cave Tubing! In Roatan the boys (+ one of the wives) are all doing a zip line canopy thingee. I would love to, but I'm sure my leg would get caught in something and I'd be dangling above quick sand or something. So all the other places I'll be sippin' cocktails on the beach. In Costa Maya supposedly are the best beaches. My pasty white skin may have a reddish tint to it when I get home! A funny note on the cruise - the ship in this story is the exact cruise we are taking... and we have a balcony room. YIKES!! I think I'll wear a life jacket the entire trip.
To my friend Pat - Thank you for the referral of Susan for our cruise. She's been a great help. And I owe you several phone calls. It's been so crazy! I talk on the phone all day - it makes it hard to pick up the phone at night. I promise to call soon!!! (I'll call during one of my long commutes)
I spent last week in Houston and San Antonio doing a bit of training...These are out my hotel room on Loop 610 South in Houston. (very near the Galleria Mall, heh heh)

Whew...
That's the best word I can come up with. My working life has completely changed in the last 10 days - just google New Century and click on news - and then SXSW hit Austin. We had several house guests for the week, who were all wonderful and are welcome any time! I personally am over SXSW, but then I've lived in Austin my whole life. I took a ton of photos - they can be found at my Flickr site. Ben & She Craves played Friday at the Dizzy Rooster for the AIA showcase, and on Saturday at Nuno's, for the Music Gorilla showcase. Lot's of craziness...

Husbands...
This would have to be reason number 7,834,971 why I love my Bengaroo. I can open the fridge on any given day and find little bites like this out of everything from cheese to leftovers... or cups of soda he didn't finish... he cracks me up! Malia - did he do this at home?
I love you BenGaroo!

Anniversaries Galore!
This Sunday, March 4th, is our 2nd wedding anniversary. I can't believe it's only been 2 years! Seems like yesterday, then a lifetime ago. Because I love my Bengaroo!!! April 11, while we are on our fabulous cruise, we will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the night we met at Jaime's Spanish Village on Red River... Here are some photos to take us all down memory lane:
Our first trip to Walt Disney World together July 1997
look how young (and skinny!) we were! :-)
Um, yeah. No alcohol involved here in Key West - on our wedding weekend.
I'm pretty sure I am talking to Nicole here - after my congratulatory shot of tequila at the Green Parrot in Key West
again, no alcohol was involved in this weekend.
I am sensing a theme here...New Orleans Dec 2000
