Psychadelic Man

Heh Heh - we got 'shrooms right in Pville! There has been so MUCH RAIN the last few weeks, we have new friends growing everywhere. I don't like when it floods, but we sure haven't had to water the grass yet this year...

Photo op weekend

First I should mention that Ben and I both were home all weekend. He had rehearsal a few hours each day, but no shows. Since Texas bowed out of the baseball championships... I had nothing planned. It was so nice! We were LAZY all weekend, together! What a concept! We also got to see some of our friends' bands for a change, like the new 20 Questions (2 former Ritalyn Kids -singer and drummer), and Mock Tigers (Errol from Nooner, Roger from a band that I can't remember the name, but I think Errol used to be in it too? and Matt? The bands, they are incestuous)
And then Squint played here in Pville at Merkaba Lounge. We joined the Browns for a few beverages and some good live music! (That would be the "soon-to-be-homeowners" Browns)

Took some different photos all weekend, too... storms, rainbows, flowers, trees, beagles...

*sigh*

I seem to be sighing a lot lately...

Well, the Longhorns didn't make it out of the regional playoff again this year. I know our expectations are probably too high year after year as fans... Omaha or bust dammit! Had a great weekend of tailgating and baseball out at the Dell Diamond though - right up through the massive thunderstorm that hit Sunday night to help postpone the agony... Texas finished their last game on Monday. The storm caused the game to be called in the bottom of the 7th on Sunday so they resumed on Monday.
I think they will have many new faces on the team next year - several seniors will of course be gone, but also the MLB draft is tomorrow. Some of the juniors or any 21 year olds on the squad could get a good enough offer to go pro. Kyle Russell and Bradley Suttle are two that come to mind - they are not juniors, but either are or will be 21 within 10 days after the draft. Kyle Russell is the NCAA Division I leader in homeruns.

Hook 'em horns... 8 months to go for the start of next season!! :-)

The brown bears of Brown University

Yup, an Ivy League school that ventured to TPT Texas for some baseball! They showed a lot of heart.

It's also worth mentioning that while the Disch has squeezed in almost 8,000 crazy fans... I believe we hit 10,000 at the Diamond! Wonder when the last time was that the Express drew that kind of crowd?
