Oldest to Youngest, and inbetween
Busy weekend and not work-related for a change - YAY! My Granddad's side of the family (my mom's dad) has a reunion every year, same place same time. I'm ashamed to admit this was only the 2nd time I've gone. And this year marked the 30th meeting. And it's about 20 minutes from home. Okay, enough guilt. Most of our "branch" went this year, and we made Granddad proud. Here is the oldest member of our part of the family - Granddad; the youngest - Andon, and a couple in between the 81 years that separate Granddad and Andon!

Mother Nature
Rain Rain Rain! I guess I'm getting used to it. The storm clouds do make for some fantastic photo ops. Yesterday this rainbow stretched from the back yard to the front! It's the first time in quite a long time I've seen the full rainbow. Still didn't see any pot of gold though. And the sunset? My goodness. It looked like fire! These photos are untouched. I find it interesting how the camera makes the sky two different colors on each side of the rainbow. I don't remember that it looked like that in person.

Potter Schmotter
I know the buzz lately has been all about Harry Potter - the final book - the 3rd to the last movie... all out around the same time. Ben and I saw the movie recently and loved it. I think it's my favorite so far. I've never read any of the books.
HOWEVER what's even more exciting than Harry Potter?
THE SIMPSONS MOVIE!
We'll be there opening day. Friends, beer, and the Simpsons on the big screen. Yeah, life is good.

French Guitars
My friend Lizzie, the awesome and talented opera singer, performed last night in a collaboration with the Austin Classical Guitar Society. It was a wonderful show - and I was able to sneak a few pictures. (Actually, I DIDN'T sneak, I asked permission) So, last week at a She Craves show, Liz was explaining that she would be accompanied by French guitar players. I smiled my doofy smile and said, "Oh, that's cool..." trying to figure out what the hell a French guitar looked like.
Anyway, I left my program in the "green room" so I can't spell their names, but they played some great French guitar!! Don't you love their matching shirts?

Happy #231 America!
Had a nice 4th of July week - beer and bbq with a few friends, then shot off fireworks in the street! We passed by all these "ZERO TOLERANCE!" signs about not shooting off fireworks in our neighborhood, but we didn't listen very well. If you have the time, go view these photos on Large - the detail is nice!
