Rock on She Craves
She Craves released their new CD Friday night at the Parish on 6th Street with a great show!! The Parish is horribly dark, so I didn't get many photos. Kristin and Jef did, though.

Blah
Back from vacation. Blah. Vacations are always too short. We didn't take very many pictures this time for a couple of reasons. 1) we didn't have a lot of time, and 2) it was so freaking hot I did not want my photo taken! I looked like a sweaty rat most of the time. And it's all about me.
We had a great time with David, Anita, Brett and Krista. I think they had a good time, too. In spite of the heat and the fast pace. I have my photos up on flickr. Disney in September? Never again. It was a good time for low crowds (we pretty much walked on to everything) and also they offered a free dining plan (2 meals and a snack each day) that was a great money saver. Now I know why - it's HOT!
Now I need a new count down! Maybe Mike and I can hit Vegas soon.

We got to visit with The Mom, too, which was very nice. We hope to be seeing her again at Thanksgiving.

Ahhh... Vacation is on the horizon...
You know, Ben and I have been to DisneyWorld 10 times. Yes, we are freaks. But we found each other with our Disney freakiness, which is a good thing.
Thursday afternoon, we head back for trip #11. My brother, his wife, and his 2 kids - ages 20 and 14, will be there on Friday night. Their first trip.
So...our 11th trip. I AM SO EXCITED I CAN HARDLY STAND IT! We always have so much fun. It's hard for Ben and me to decide what we should drag them to. We will only be there for about 3-1/2 days in reality, so we are having to choose "highlights" for them to see. Do we ride Space Mountain twice, or do we get a fastpass for Splash Mountain? Do we see the new motor cars show at MGM or go to Epcot for the new ride in Mexico featuring Donald Duck? Will we have time to go to one of our favorite eateries - the Earl of Sandwich? The safari at Animal Kingdom? Visit Comedy Warehouse at Downtown Disney? Ah, the choices.
We kind of cheated. We are getting there Thursday night because we used American miles - and that was the only time we could go. Texas is playing football in Orlando this Saturday. Flights are scarce. Anyway, we get in Thursday night. We have all day Friday & Friday night to do other stuff. Ben's Mom is in Tampa, so we want to go see her. Well... it just so happens the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is premiering Friday night. The park is all dressed up for Halloween, you can trick or treat, they have a special spooky parade, and only people with a party ticket can attend. Magic Kingdom will be open til past midnight. Yep. We got tickets. It is supposed to rain that night - so hopefully that will scare more than a few people off. We could get off of Space Mountain and get right back on!!!! A dream come true, I tell you.
I don't know if we will ever get tired of going to Disney World. We weren't going to go this year, but my brother mentioned they were interested but only if we went with them. That was all I needed! heh heh We told them all they have to do is show up, we'll handle the schedule.

I have my UT crocs all ready to go, as well as 6 Longhorn ponchos since I'm sure it will rain every day. Part of us being able to go was the price. It's hurricane season. Prices are about half! I can handle the rain.
So - next post will either be from Disney World or during the post vacation blues.
Elway is going to Dog Boys Ranch because he is rotten. And his favorite Auntie Mo has agreed to not only pick him up for us so he is home when we get home, but to cook for him too! Thanks Zogie!!!
** Plus I want to add a note - a shout out to Paul and Malia... CONGRATULATIONS! Ben and I will either be an aunt or an uncle some time this spring! :-) **

Beautiful Music
Music to the ears of Beagle lovers everywhere. Paul wasn't available to accompany Mr. Jake Irby with his lovely rendition of "Arrroooooo!" so Ben improvised. (Probably faster if you right click and save to your computer)
Jake the Beagle
Jake is our nephew Beagle, who owns Ben's sister & husband, Malia and Paul. For a change I was able to go to Dallas with Ben. We were supposed to be going to a Styx, Foreigner, and Def Lepperd rock show. I ended up being the last girl standing, so I didn't go. I think the 3 stooges had a good time without the old "ball and chain" (s) hanging around. (I just couldn't type 'balls & chains,' sorry)

It was so nice to see all the Dallas friends & family! Lisa & Jon are slowly recovering from the awful car accident they were in, and Lisa is wearing her new nickname, "Crash", well. (Seriously, bless you both, we are so glad you are here!) Jenny & Walt both had birthdays this week - woo hoo! Happy Birthday! And they've added Madison, a rescued Westie, to their brood. Paul & Malia are doing very well, but what they don't realize is they will need to find a new beagle. Jake will be coming to stay with us for nearly 3 weeks later in September while they are on a Mediterranean cruise. I believe the only acceptable compensation for that is... we keep the dog!!! :-)
Of course, I had hoped to see my friend Pat this weekend. It's been so long! But, guess where she was? Austin! I'm sure we passed each other on I-35 both coming and going, if she drove. Sorry Pat! Maybe next weekend?
Hooray for 3 day weekends!
