Domain
Ben and I have made this habit of meeting at The Domain, a new fancy mixed use development, for our Thursday night date night. Sometimes the Redferns meet us there, sometimes it's just us. We've only started this "tradition" since the weather has been cooler - we'll see what happens when it warms up. We like to get there early for Happy Hour - McCormick and Schmick's has a fantastic HH - $1.95 cheeseburgers, $2.95 fish tacos that are out of this world, .... then we walk around a bit down the street with all the shops. Also of note on the HH - Kona grill has sushi for 1/2 price, some great pot stickers, avocado egg rolls, and discounted COSMOS! (other food too that is discounted like bbq chicken pizza... ) All we can do is window shop - the stores don't have Happy Hour discounts! :-)
I love our date nights!

Sad Sad World

Ben and I have a niece coming very soon - about six weeks according to his sister... She had a baby shower today in Dallas. And for some reason one of Malia's good friends thought it was a good idea to make this blanket. First I explained to Malia, then Paul, that you can't even buy fabric like that in Austin. Are you kidding me? Then I promised fellow out-law Pauly that I would feed his newborn daughter carrots and queso so that she can spit up a beautiful orange color on this awful blanky!
Counting the days til the arrival of Irlene Irby! :-)

My Valentine

We enjoyed a nice laid back Valentine's dinner at SamBet's Cajun Deli, then some ice cream! Our 11th Valentine's Day together... *sigh*. Made us want to go back to New Orleans...

Pay it Forward
Here are the "rules":
I'll be sure to update what I send out, and what I receive from K! C'mon! This will be fun.I will send handmade gifts to the first three people who leave a comment and tell me they are interested in playing. In order to play, you must have your own blog and you must continue to ‘pay it forward’ by promising the same thing to your readers. Now, as far as the handmade gifts go, I don’t know yet what they will be. I also don’t know when I’ll get them sent. You may not receive the gift tomorrow or next week, but I do promise that it will get to you within the next 365 days! Sound good? I think it sounds great! Remember, I will be choosing the first three people who respond by leaving a comment on this blog post. The requirements are that you have your own blog and are willing to send out three of your own homemade gifts (whatever you want to make, no rules or limitations here).

Three Cheers for Bueno!!

Can you dig it!? Ben and I drove to Slaughter and MoPac today so we could eat at Austin's very own Bueno! Thanks to Malia and Paul we had $25 between us in Bueno Bucks. We used $15. :-) It's about 20 miles from us, but hey - that's closer than San Marcos or Waco. They will soon be in Round Rock!

On the way back I talked Ben into stopping by the Disch. They have 2 weeks and 6 days before the opening game, plus they are having a fan appreciation day on Feb 15. Still looks like there is a lot to be done, but I suppose it could happen. The original completion date was August 2007. Just a little over. I got my tickets yesterday but for some reason UT has decided I need to sign for them. So I have to get them at the Post Office on Monday.
