holy freakin' moly

Yes - it says 58 - 14. In the 3rd quarter. When I called my Oklahoma bro-in-law to let him know that a) I'd better be hearing a lot of Boomer Sooner tonight (he suggested Hook 'em Sooner?) and b) it's a rare rare RARE occasion that I root for OU... I HAD NO IDEA! And they have a whole quarter to play! I'll go ahead and say what UT fans are thinking but probably wouldn't dare say out loud... I'm glad we already beat OU and are not playing them now. I think this OU win means Texas wins the Big 12 South. Which is a huge pile of BS that I won't get into - that the Big 12 has a playoff game between the North and South divisions... Holy crap! As I'm typing this OU just scored AGAIN! Wonder if they will get to 100 points?
Anyway... OU is smoking some Sand Aggy tonight!

Tuna Time

We are going to see Tuna Does Vegas tonight! It is part of the best play series ever known to these parts, Greater Tuna. Ben and I have seen all of them 2 or 3 times each. He says it reminds him of my family so much its a little scary.

My favorite might be Red, White, and Tuna which is about a 4th of July picnic that is also a Tuna High School reunion. Funny stuff, I'm tellin' ya. If you have not seen this two man show - put it on your list of things to do in 2009!!! They tour the whole country. And they have been doing it awhile, so could stop at any time.

Hooray for visits

Mike and Otis visited Austin this past weekend - Otis's first trip ever to our great city! We just hung out and drove around, checking out the sites. Always good to see them. Ben and I should see Mike again in December on our Disney trip - hoping he can come up one evening for dinner. They got here Saturday afternoon, and Saturday night we met with another one of my good friends that I've known since elementary school, Pat. We had dinner at Moonshine (YUM!) and came back to my house for some visiting and to hope that Okla State could beat Texas Tech. That didn't happen, but the visiting was nice. Sunday morning, got up for breakfast at Cracker Barrel. California does not have Cracker Barrel, so there was quite a buzz of excitement. Pat met us for breakfast, since her home of choice to stay in when she comes to Austin was about 2 blocks away. It's been good to see her a few times this football season too! After that we just cruised all over Austin, and met up with Kristin, Jef, Tim, and Liz for some good barbeque supper at the County Line on the Lake.

I'm so glad Mike and Otis came to visit - and of course I am already planning my San Diego trip during South By next March...

The Conversation

As reported, Edge has a thing for socks. Clothes in general, but mostly socks. The other day he came running out with Ben's underwear on his head. Here - Ben tries to explain why it is not acceptable to traipse around the house with the undergarments. Edge may have been listening, but I doubt he will change his ways.

Vogue Baby

Going through old photos again and found this one to be hilarious! This could help explain my penchant for casual dress - an old baby shirt, probably my brother's, and my cloth diaper. There are a lot of photos of me with just a t-shirt and a diaper. This shirt doesn't seem big enough to cover my well fed belly. The other folks are my grandmother (the crazy one we called Omi) and my grandparents' dachshund, Princess. (Special note to the Irbys - Julia's not the only chunky baby in the family!)
